Legazpi (Philippines) celebrates Founder’s Day

JPEG - 1.5 MiB“Love is so eloquent that it penetrates even the innermost part of the heart” is a great inspiration of Venerable Peter Joseph Triest in our life and mission here in Legazpi City, Philippines. Indeed, celebrating his 190th death anniversary is a blessing and opportunity to be together in praising and thanking God for his life lived in witnessing Christ Himself.

Prior to the event, the sisters and associates together with the scholars had their novena to Venerable Triest at the center while novenas were also conducted at the residences of two sick associates who were unable to attend physically.

JPEG - 2.4 MiBThe Triest Apostolate, as dedicated community- based mission here in Legazpi City, organized Eucharistic celebration on June 24,2026. At 5:00 pm, Sr. Nosheen Bashir shared a few words of our founder, an introductory part of the celebration, in which Venerable Triest emphasized the very essence of the sacrament of love and exemplary life we are called to live, in proclamation of God’s Kingdom on earth. Additionally, the commentator, Ma. Salome Yanzon, together with Nonita Alvarez, and Nida Sinogba, our Friends of Fr. Triest associates, joined the celebration and were greatly appreciated for their contribution to the success of the event.

JPEG - 1.8 MiBThe mass was officiated by Rev.Fr. Andrew De Vera, who for the first time, came to know and was delighted by our Founder’s life and mission. Although he knows him briefly, he witnessed the event’s spirit of Charity, and so in return, encouraged the people to pray to Venerable Triest! Sr. Swarna Fernando, thanked Fr. Andrew with a framed image of our founder written with words, “Love is the origin; Service is the way; Complete care is the method; Joy of the resurrection is the perspective.

The event ended with gifting the 60 parents and guardians of the children under the program of Sr. Nosheen and Miss Tess Lagarde, of the framed image of Venerable Triest. These framed images were also blessed by Fr. Andrew before distribution. Aside from this, 190 meal packs and apple juice drinks were prepared and distributed to everyone. There were 147 participants/attendees. The event marked the beginning of our journey with Venerable Triest in preparation for 25 years anniversary of Triest Apostolate.
We have gone this far, and still, we are going further, with sustained hope and enthusiasm, living our life as our founder says “we breathe to adore Him”

May we always anchor ourselves with our pioneer sisters’ prayer that God may “fill us spiritual joy, which animates and sustain fervor that seeking Him in everything and everywhere, we may finally attain to Him, our only end and Sovereign Good”.

And thus, we become a pleasing offering for the renewal and transformation of the society where we are, as well as for own, a life rooted in love and branched out with hope, founded in the trunk of faith.

Sr. Swarna Fernando and Community
